Who is the bravest of the brave? The Duelist willing to risk everything on a dice roll, coin toss, or spin of the wheel? Joey Wheeler, of course! A brand-new reimagining of Joey's favorite cards arrives in Beyond the Brave.
Joey's new cards revolve around the Spell Card Dark Time Wizard, celebrating his most courageous Duels against Rex, Mai, Bonz, Espa Roba, Mako, and Odion. Dark Time Wizard is a Quick-Play Spell with two effects—one safe and one risky.
- The first effect adds a card from your Deck to your hand that mentions Dark Time Wizard, then returns a Dark Time Wizard from your Graveyard to your hand during the End Phase.
- The second effect involves a coin toss: win it and destroy all your opponent's monsters while inflicting damage equal to half their combined original ATK; lose it and your own monsters are destroyed instead.
- If any monsters are destroyed by Dark Time Wizard, you can Tribute a monster on either field to Special Summon the new Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed Fusion from your Extra Deck. This 3400 ATK monster is immune to activated Spell and monster effects and can Special Summon a Level 8 or lower monster from your hand or Graveyard.
Destiny HERO Reimagined
Aster Phoenix also receives support with reimagined Destiny HERO cards:
- Destiny HERO - Doom Overlord banishes an opponent's monster and searches Clock Tower Prison or Dark City at Midnight.
- Destiny HERO - Destro-Dogma can Special Summon itself from the hand or Graveyard with 3400 ATK and inflict 2000 damage during the next Standby Phase.
- Destiny HERO - Dreadnought Master searches 2 Destiny HERO-related cards and gains ATK equal to the total original ATK of all Destiny HERO monsters on your field and in your Graveyard.
Atlantis and Daedalus Return
- Atlantis, City of the Sea Dragon lowers all monster Levels by 1 and helps summon Azure Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus Rage and Levia-Dragoon - Daedalus with fewer materials.
- Neo-Daedalus Rage can Special Summon up to 3 Atlantis-related monsters from your Graveyard.
- Levia-Dragoon - Daedalus Special Summons an Atlantis-related monster directly from your Deck.
All of these cards (except Atlantis itself) become "Umi" while on the field and gain powerful effects involving Umi cards.
The Ashtra Theme
Summon Ashtra monsters by revealing and returning a face-down card you control.
- Akasuna the Battle Ashtra can send a Trap to the Graveyard to flip all opponent's monsters face-down.
- Every Ashtra Trap can also become a Tuner monster.
- Ashtraja Susanoo and Ashtraya Mikumari-no-Mikoto provide powerful Synchro-based control effects.
- Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse allows Spell/Trap recycling, bonus WATER monster summons, and protection for face-down cards. It is also available as an Extended Art card.
